Korean archers Joo Jae-hoon (Korea Hydro Nuclear Power) and So Chae-won (Hyundai Mobis) have advanced to the semifinals of the compound archery event at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.

Joo and So defeated Nguyen Thi Hai Chau and Zuong Duy Bao of Vietnam, 158?153, in the quarterfinals of the compound archery competition on Thursday at the Fuyang Throat Sports Center in Hangzhou, China.

They took an early lead, shooting all eight shots for 10 points by the second end. In particular, Joo showed off his peak form in this match, hitting all eight shots for 10 points.

Unlike recurve, which is played in sets, compound with a mechanical bow is decided by totaling the points. Pairs of men and women shoot eight targets each, for a total of 16 shots. It is played in four ends, with four shots per end.

Joo Jae-hoon has the unique distinction of being a former national team member who is now a petition police officer for Korea Hydro Nuclear Power.

He earned his Taeguk-mark in his fifth attempt and finished the first day's ranking round in first place, qualifying for the individual, team, and mixed events.

After being pushed to the bronze medal match in the individual event, the Korean athlete is hoping to win her first Asian Games gold medal in the mixed event.

So won gold in the women's team event and silver in the mixed event at Jakarta-Palembang 2018. She will be going for a second consecutive gold medal.

She has already qualified for the final in the individual event, so she has the potential to win multiple medals. A maximum of three titles is possible in the team event. 스포츠토토맨
