San Diego Padres outfielder Ha-Sung Kim (28) was not honored with the Fielding Bible Award

San Diego Padres outfielder Ha-Sung Kim (28) was not honored with the Fielding Bible Award, which recognizes the defensive abilities of Major League Baseball (MLB) players.

Kim was not among the winners of the Fielding Bible Award, which was announced on Sunday (June 27) by Sports Information Solutions (SIS), a major league data analytics company.

The Fielding Bible Award, now in its 18th year, recognizes the best defensive player at each position, regardless of league, as voted on by experts.

In the second base category, Kim's primary position this season, Andres Jimenez (Cleveland Guardians) was honored.

"Jimenez posted a +23 Defensive Runs Saved (DRS), the highest among major league second basemen this season, and was the only second baseman to make more than 10 defensive runs saved (defensively) on both his left and right sides," SIS explained.

Kim ranked fifth in SIS's competition for second baseman, behind Jimenez, Marcus Simeon (Texas Rangers), Nico Horner (Chicago Cubs), and Bryson Stott (Philadelphia Phillies).

Mookie Betts (Los Angeles Dodgers) was honored in the Utility category. Betts' sixth career Fielding Bible Award honor ties him with Andrelton Simmons and Yadier Molina for the most wins. 19가이드03
