Should I reheat the cold FA market for "Golden Gloves"

The professional baseball free agent (FA) market has cooled down. I hear only occasional news of foreign mercenaries, and more than 10 days have passed since the last FA contract. Attention is focusing on whether the warmth will return to the market starting with the Golden Glove Awards on the 11th.

The mood in the beginning was feverish. As soon as the transfer market opened on June 19, four contracts flooded in. The first runner was Lotte Giants outfielder Jeon Jun-woo. On the second day of the official start of the negotiations, Ahn Chi-hong signed a contract with the original team for up to 4.7 billion won (approx. Ahn Chi-hong's surprise move to the Hanwha Eagles and veteran pinch-hitter Ko Jong-wook's stay at the KIA Tigers were followed. Kim Jae-yoon, the guardian of the KT Wiz, will wear a Samsung Lions uniform.

In December, the mood has changed. After Yang Seok-hwan, the fielder's biggest fish, decided to stay with the Doosan Bears for up to 7.8 billion won (6.37 million U.S. dollars) for 4+2 years on April 30, news of his contract was cut off for more than 10 days. Various award ceremonies and events were held by different teams to mark the end of the year, but the transfer market remained quiet. The Major League Baseball secretariat's request for identification check on left-hander Ham Deok-ju of the LG Twins was a hot topic of conversation.

Of the 19 FA-approved players, 14 have yet to sign their contracts. Excluding Oh Ji-hwan, who applied for the FA as part of a strategy to prepare for the second draft, there are 13 left. His pace is much more convincing than usual. Last winter, 14 players, or two-thirds of the 21 FA-approved players, decided their destinations before the Golden Glove Awards.

Several players are in demand among the non-contractors this year. Hong Geon-hee (Doosan), who is eligible for A grade, and Lim Chan-gyu (LG), who is the most winning pitcher in Korea this year, are waiting. Negotiations are also underway between Oh Seung-hwan (Samsung) and Kim Sun-bin (KIA), who are considering their age and other factors but are not lagging behind in terms of name value.

It is too early to worry about the FA loss. Analysts say that the Golden Glove Awards will accelerate negotiations.

The same goes for the recruitment of foreign players, who have a long way to go. There are many teams that have yet to sign a single contract. The situation is better for LG and KT. By signing Austin Dean, Casey Kelly, Mel Rojas Jr. and William Cuevas, respectively, they relieved their worries.

Kiwoom Heroes announced on the day that they renewed their contract with Ronnie Dawson for a total of 600,000 dollars. Dawson, who entered the Korean stage as a substitute in July, recorded a batting average of 0.336 with three homers and 29 RBIs in 57 games.  토토사이트

Dawson said, "I'm happy to play in the KBO League again," adding, "I'll do my best to help the team win more games."
